Meg Hillier
Meg Hillier is the Member of Parliament for Hackney South & Shoreditch, and a minister at the Home Office. I worked recently with Meg and her team to redevelop the site that I’d originally built for her prior to the election in 2005.

The aim with this re-design was simple – to create a fresh, modern and distinctive design that supported Meg’s work as a constituency MP: making it easier for Hackney people to get in touch; find out more about her work around the constituency; and download her regular parliamentary reports.
At a time when Members of Parliament are under much scrutiny, this website is intended to provide a means for Meg to be held accountable and to openly share some insight into her everyday work and give a flavour of the area she serves. In considering my approach to this re-design, I wanted to reflect this openness by consciously retaining the uncluttered and direct feel of the original site – avoiding the impersonal and dated feel of so many MP’s websites.
The site continues to be managed using the Textpattern content management system, as it has since first launching, providing a simple way for Meg’s team to update all website content.
